The photograph has excellent period detail, including the horses' harness and tack, the carriage construction, large wooden-spoke wheels, the driver's clothing and hat, and the surrounding architecture. The identity of the man and the exact location are unknown . The reverse is unused for postal purposes and has several later handwritten notations, including the name “BILL.” There is not enough information to confidently determine whether “Bill” identifies the driver, so I would not attribute that name to him in the listing .
