BUCK’S STATEMENT: There was a time when the automobile itself still carried a little romance—the long hood, running boards, spare tire mounted proudly along the side, and an open cabin made for a Sunday drive down a two-lane road. This vintage Floraline USA #532 ceramic planter captures that earlier motoring age in miniature, modeled after the handsome touring cars and convertibles of the 1930s. Finished in a deep olive-green glaze with dark accents settling into the molded details, it has that unmistakable vintage pottery character that looks right at home beside old books, automobilia and the collected odds and ends of another generation. Turn it over and the base is clearly marked “532 FLORALINE USA.” Originally made as a decorative floral container or planter, today it works just as well as a piece of vintage American pottery, an unusual desk accessory or a display piece for the classic-car collector. The molded spare tire, sweeping fenders, running boards and open passenger compartment give it plenty of personality from every angle. There is visible chipping/glaze loss to two of the underside feet, as shown closely in the photographs; fortunately, this is underneath and does little to take away from the car when displayed upright.
