So this cup and saucer is from the early 1990’s. It is decorated with a ring of shiny gold cabbage roses on bright white bone china and a deep cream color in the center of the saucer and bottom of the cup. This is a beautiful fine bone china teacup and saucer set made by the Crownford China Company in Longton, England. It is decorated with a ring of shiny gold cabbage roses on bright white bone china and a deep cream color in the center of the saucer and bottom of the cup. The faintly scalloped edges of the cup and saucer are trimmed in gold with a bit of gold on the handle and on the bottom of the cup. But that ring of gold roses is really what makes this set shine. Crownford China Company existed by that name from 1989-1994. Before that, the companies called Rosina and Elizabethan Fine Bone China merged into that one company, called Crownford. So this cup and saucer is from the early 1990’s. The cup and saucer are in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks but I can see FINE CRAZING when looking with a bright light. The glaze is still smooth to the touch. I see little wear on the cup or saucer, when looking at the glaze at an angle to the light, and just a bit of wear to the gold trim, and some rub wear to the gold roses. There is a speck of ash in the glaze in the very bottom of the cup that can be seen in the pictures. The entire surface of the saucer is glazed so there are three kiln support marks on the underside of the saucer where it rested while being fired in the kiln. The diameter of the cup is about 3 & 3/8 inches, is 2 & 3/4 inches tall and holds 2/3 cup. The saucer is 5 & 5/8 inches in diameter. The bone china set weighs about 8.5 ounces.
