Thi piece features the classic ushnishha (crowned head) and stylized snail-shell curls, representing the enlightened Budda. The collector (now deceased) was a resident of France. He lived in the United States and worked for a steel company located in Germany. On many of his items I have received at least two opinions for their origination and value. Unfortunately, they are often in conflict. I am selling many of the items as vintage (not antique) , and decorative. This sandstone Budda head reflects the serene aesthetic typical of Southeast Asian Buddhist art likely inspired by Dvaravati or Khklmer traditions.  Thi piece features the classic ushnishha (crowned head)  and stylized snail-shell curls, representing the enlightened Budda. Hand-carved from natural sandstone, it displays a weathered patina which could be indicative of age and historical significance . Please look closely at photos as they are part of the description.
