On the other side all three connection points are detached. See photo. These can easily be re-secured with a matching fiber wrap or cord. This Handwoven Asian Rattan Basket circa mid 20th century, is likely from the Tiuray Tribe given the two-tone zigzag/geometric patterning and split-bamboo construction with wrapped rattan handles. That style of dark-and-light diagonal weave is a classic technique from that region, often called “ikat” or “chevron” basketry features a woven pattern. On the large tote basket, one side’s connection point is detached. On the other side all three connection points are detached. See photo. These can easily be re-secured with a matching fiber wrap or cord. Tote measures 13.5” tall, straps extend up 6”. Interior width 16”x 5”.
