Ink painting is a material carried down through centuries of Japanese art, and he reinterprets it through the eyes of pop art. His subjects come from the icons of good fortune - the Seven Lucky Gods, Mt. Fuji, Daruma, the beckoning cat - painted with humor and warmth. He works from the perspective of the material itself, entrusting a wish for happiness to the brush, and the result is a world that is entirely his own yet immediately familiar.
