The underside bears a hand-painted signature or decorator's mark that is difficult to decipher, along with remnants of a purple factory-type mark. Vintage hand-painted porcelain figurine depicting a young boy in colorful period-style clothing, posed beside a tree stump and holding a large green hat. This figurine closely matches known examples attributed to Volkstedt, Germany, including the distinctive pose, costume, hat and base design. Because the remaining factory mark on this example is too faint to identify conclusively, the Volkstedt attribution has not been confirmed. The underside bears a hand-painted signature or decorator's mark that is difficult to decipher, along with remnants of a purple factory-type mark. Measures approximately 7" tall with a base approximately 2.75" in diameter. Displays beautifully overall. Under close inspection, there are several very small flea bites/areas of glaze loss, including along the rim of the hat, the left arm, right shoulder/back of the coat, and possibly the tip of the left shoe.
