He has lots of character and displays especially well seated or posed with support. Charming vintage wooden Pinocchio marionette puppet measuring approximately 17" long. Pinocchio is constructed of wood with a wonderfully aged hand-painted finish and articulated joints at the head/neck, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. He has lots of character and displays especially well seated or posed with support. IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTE: This was originally a marionette. The strings and control bar/controller are no longer present, although the small nails where the strings were attached remain, along with a few tiny remnants/fibers of the original string. It is being sold as shown for display, collecting, restoration or restringing. The wooden nose can be removed from the face and fits securely when reinserted. I do not know whether the removable nose was an intentional original feature or has simply loosened with age. The figure shows visible age-related wear, scuffs, paint loss and surface marks throughout, contributing to its vintage character. No maker's mark was found.
