This is a very rustic piece that has seen a lot of use. I actually like the rustic look of the piece so just ran a little water over it and dried it. I think it adds to the authenticity and character of the piece, and its many years of use. Antique Two Tone Brown and Tan Whiskey / Moonshine Stoneware Jug Crock with Original old, corroded Cork, measuring approximately 11 1/2"H x 7 1/4"W and weighing approximately 6 pounds 1 ounce. This is a very rustic piece that has seen a lot of use. Chemical smell when the cork is removed. I actually like the rustic look of the piece so just ran a little water over it and dried it. The buyer can certainly clean it up as they choose, or not. I think it adds to the authenticity and character of the piece, and its many years of use. I have not found too many of these with the original cork still in place. A great piece to add to any collection of antique stoneware, jugs and crockery. My husband's father and my father brought back many lovely pieces of jewelry, porcelain, clothing, perfumes, and household items to their new brides upon their return from Europe after WWII.
