Vintage Italian 800 Silver Filigree Butterfly Brooch Beautiful vintage Italian butterfly brooch crafted in intricate silver filigree work. The reverse is clearly hallmarked “800,” indicating 800/1000 silver, along with a second partially worn Italian maker/province hallmark. Based on the style of the Italian hallmark, the piece appears to date from approximately 1944–1968. The worn province letters appear possibly consistent with “GO” for Gorizia, Italy, although the hallmark is not clear enough to guarantee this attribution. The brooch features detailed openwork filigree throughout the wings with areas of warm gold-tone/gilt finish remaining over the silver. Condition: Pre-owned vintage condition with substantial age-appropriate patina, oxidation/tarnish, surface wear and loss/wear to the gold-tone finish.
