This is a vintage Japanese lacquerware bento or jubako box featuring a bold red and black design with a dramatic raised koi fish motif on the lid. The box is round and includes two stackable tiers and a removable plastic insert for food or sweets. Features: Design: Red & black lacquer with carved koi fish motif Shape: Round, 2-tier, with removable clear plastic divider Origin: Japan (mid-20th century, likely Showa era) Size: Approx. 11" diameter, 4.5" tall (see photos for measurements) Material: Likely plastic or composite base with lacquered finish Condition: Pre-owned vintage condition. There is 2 large chips on the rim of the lid (see close-up photos). Some light surface scratches, scuffs, and age-appropriate wear. Still displays beautifully, but please note the damage.
