Measuring approximately 12.5” in diameter, this substantial round piece displays the character and tool marks of traditional hand carving. One side features a large stylized African elephant with prominent tusks and trunk, surrounded by deeply incised details. The reverse is considerably more elaborate, with a radial composition of multiple stylized African animals surrounding a central circular medallion. The deeply carved lines and dark finish create excellent contrast against the natural brown tones and visible wood grain.
