This is a Sunroku size plane (blade width: approx. 65mm). The main blade has been cleaned of rust and finished with a protective chemical black oxide coating (blackened finish). The wooden block (Dai / 台) made of Japanese White Oak has been re-fitted and reinforced at the bedding bed with epoxy compound to ensure a firm blade seating. It offers great cutting action and plenty of remaining blade length for years of sharpening.
