Up for sale is an incredibly rare, pristine pair of true vintage Salvatore Ferragamo Vara Bow Flats (the iconic style later officially designated as the Varina) in Charcoal Patent Leather. These shoes are New Old Stock (NOS) / Deadstock and have never been worn. They are a single-owner pair originally purchased by my mother from Saks Fifth Avenue in the late 1980s / early 1990s and have been safely stored inside a climate-controlled closet ever since. Vintage Italian luxury shoes are notorious for running smaller and narrower than modern American brands. Please use these exact physical measurements to ensure a perfect fit. Fit Note: Due to traditional vintage Italian tailoring and the slim 3-inch profile, these measure and fit closer to a modern US women's size 8.5 Narrow. Overall Condition: Mint / Pristine Vintage Condition (New Old Stock). Upper Leather: The patent leather finish is brilliant, vibrant, and smooth to the touch. The polyurethane topcoat is structurally sound and free of typical vintage defects like dry cracking or peeling. Soles & Structure: Fully flex-tested and rock-solid. The vintage factory glue and heel caps remain securely bound with zero dry-rotting or sole separation. Interiors: Flawless inner linings. The metallic Salvatore Ferragamo branding script and internal sizing codes are crisp, bright, and completely unfaded. The interior heel pads are flat and securely glued. Minor Vintage Character: Under extreme close-up inspection: There are a couple of microscopic, factory-inherent white pinprick spots trapped under the clear patent glaze from the original manufacturing process. Interior arch seam: The edge of the tan inner sock liner shows very minor, natural lifting along the diagonal arch pad seam due to age-related storage. Both elements are completely unnoticeable when worn and do not compromise the structure or integrity of the shoes (see final gallery photos).
