I am unaware of any other example in any collection making this possibly the only one in existence. His early works when he and his twin brother founded Twin Winton Studios are highly sought after by collectors. Description:  From our own collection we offer the circa 1938-1942 "KING OF THE SQUIRRELS" TWIN WINTON SQUIRREL FIGURINE. This is the largest and one of the most rare figurines Twin Winton produced. I am unaware of any other example in any collection making this possibly the only one in existence. It measures 12 inches long, by 9.5 inches tall, by 6 inches wide. This wonderful figurine was designed and sculpted by 19 year old Don Winton after his brother Ross and he founded Twin Winton Studios in 1938 later to become Twin Winton Ceramics. After WWII, Don Winton began designing for dozens and dozens of companies including Disney. Some of his more famous designs include the Emmy Award, the Country Western Music Award, and the iconic Mickey Mouse telephone, to name a few (see last photo). His early works when he and his twin brother founded Twin Winton Studios are highly sought after by collectors. The second to last photo shows Don (R) and his twin brother Ross (L) at work in 1938. The third to last photo is a photo of the front sheet of a 1938-1939 wholesale catalog showing this squirrel. This figurine's head was broken off at neck and we reattached it (see photos). Other than the restoration to reattach the head this figurine has no other damage such as chips, fleabites, cracks, or hairlines.  There is some age crazing, as expected for a piece of this age. ABOUT US : We are avid Burke-Winton Studio, Twin Winton Studios, and Twin Winton Ceramics pottery collectors who have decided to sell the majority of our 450 piece collection that includes a great many rare and hard to find pieces. We are just starting to list them on eBay and will also be offering them locally via Facebook Marketplace for local pick up in S. California. We were friends of the family and maintain Don Winton's written archives along with his daughter, Kristi. We are getting up in age now and feel this is the time to let go of the vast majority of the collection we truly love so that others can enjoy them, as well.   P AYMENT: Winning auction bidder payment due within 24 hours of end of auction. Buy It Now listing payments due immediately upon purchase. We are happy to extend the payment time frame, but please make special arrangements for extended payment or payment options BEFORE bidding. PACKAGING : Any item we sell is packaged carefully using plenty of peanuts, Styrofoam pieces, and bubble-wrap to help insure its safe arrival. We do understand the disappointment of receiving an item that has been damaged due to poor packaging and do take necessary steps to help insure the pieces we sell arrive safely. Condition: Used.
