Jersey has the 92-93 team stamp and custom crafted word mark stamp. Game Issued 92-93 Ray Bourque Jersey - Most likely a custom crafted special - Jersey shows signs of wear however most likely faked and or worn by another player then renumbered and lettered for Bourque - This was an era when custom crafted faked game worn jerseys and sold them as actual game worn jerseys. Examples : Straight cuts / unrepaired holes / wrinkled crest along with distinct red marks to pass as paint transfer / pulls and pilling in unusual places. This jersey has some of those features and is not photo matched. Jersey however does have some signs of actual use - a dark red paint transfer on the lower sleeve that is seen under the right light along with some small burns that would be hard to fake. So possible this was used once then made up to pass as a game worn Bourque. No evidence of a nameplate transfer or number change so I can’t say for sure. This is just a theory. Jersey was signed by Ray Bourque and inscribed by Ray as Game Used but has since been in the process of being removed. ( Additional photos available upon request.
