They do have marks, scuffs, scratches, some crackles in the paint, leather creasing, sole wear, a cobbler can make them shine again, or you can do it yourself by getting a white and a taupe shoe polish. The front part of the soles are thicker as in the old days the soles were made much better then now, the extra thickness gives these shoes more shock absorbency and extends the life of the soles.
