The broken piece is in the plastic bag in the photo. It was the final chain link, designed to hang down as a decorative drop when the belt is fastened. That link has two sides with the ornate open work, but it is chipped in multiple places on one side from the impact of the fall. Vintage 1980s REDWALL Italy Gold Tone Chain Belt Ornate Filigree Links Includes the original REDWALL storage pouch that accompanied the belt when purchased new in the 1980s. The belt is composed of large, rounded gold-tone openwork links with a distinctive design resembling interlocking C-shaped scrolls surrounding a central crown-like (?) motif. The ornate gold-tone openwork links are backed by translucent molded plastic/acrylic inserts. Purchased new by my mother (for me) in the 1980s at a high-end Italian fashion store in Montreal (for the at the time outrageous price of $300 and despite my protests).  I believe we were told it was a Moschino belt - but there are no markings on the belt indicating Moschino. I wore it as a belt with white jeans with great trepidation.
