Vintage Graduated Bakelite / Phenolic Resin Collar Necklace – Egg Yolk, Butterscotch & Cherry Amber Tones A spectacular vintage statement necklace featuring graduated geometric phenolic resin beads in an unusually beautiful mixture of colors and transparencies. The necklace combines opaque egg-yolk and butterscotch yellow, deep translucent cherry/root-beer, and clear honey/apple-juice amber-tone sections. Several beads display wonderful internal mottling, swirls and inclusions, giving the necklace tremendous visual depth. The geometric beads graduate from approximately 8 mm to 21 mm and form a sculptural collar measuring approximately 17–18" long. Finished with a period-appropriate screw-type closure. Each type bead were tested with Simichrome polish and produced the characteristic brown/yellow phenolic reaction, as documented in the photographs. UV photographs are also included to show the differing fluorescence and optical characteristics of the material. Approximately 39.5–40 grams total weight. Excellent vintage condition with light age-appropriate surface wear. Please examine the enlarged photographs carefully for condition, measurements, construction and testing. Unsigned.
