The driftwood base has multiple natural holes that the dowel will fit into (not sure which one is best), the base measures approx. 6" tall BY 3-3/4" AND 3" across at the top. The decoy has a 4-1/4" dowel that fits into the base. The shorebird has a natural wood grain surface and the natural lines give texture to the bird. The bird has glass eyes, and a 2-3/4" wood beak. The bird itself is approx. 8-3/8" long from tail to the outer edge of its beak, and 2-3/4" wide at the widest. When packed SECURELY for shipping, the weight is 2 pounds (mailing box measures 14” x 6" x 4").
