View Vintage REYNARD MILICI 'Sunday Sailing' SAILBOATS Cape Cod Oil Pastel PAINTING with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. This is a wonderful original. I actually had an original Rey Milici neighborhood painting not too long ago. His work really is wonderful. For those not familiar with the artist I have included his biography below. ORIGINAL REYNARD MILICI (b 1942) 'SUNDAY SAILING' OIL PASTEL PAINTING This is a wonderful original. I actually had an original Rey Milici neighborhood painting not too long ago.  That was when I first learned of the artist.  His work really is wonderful.  For those not familiar with the artist I have included his biography below.  If you have been following my store, you know that I have been acquiring works from a couple different museums and corporate collections.  This and the other Milici work I am offering come from that collection.  This is a wonderful early oil pastel painting by the artist.  An outstanding colorful view of sailboats.  Image measures 17 x 27 inches.  Signed and dated lower right corner.  Really a stunning example of the artist's work.  Archival matte and frame are complimentary and ready to hang. Some pastel dust shows on the matte but nothing too bad. On the back of the frame you can see the partial original museum label from the corporate museum that this and the other Milici come from that has the original title.  If you collect the artist, check my store for the other I am offering.  A great opportunity to acquire 2 of the artist's originals.  Frame measures 24 1/2 x 34 1/2 inches.  Upon viewing his early drawings, his grandfather, a freelance illustrator, strongly encouraged him to attend art school. “He told me that I had the talent to be an artist… He gave me the confidence to carry on. I’ve never wanted to be anything else.”  After graduating from Hartford Arts School, he did a tour of duty in the Army and ultimately settled in Northampton in the late 1970’s. At the time, Western Massachusetts was gaining notoriety while the the Valley Realists were garnering national acclaim. Rey quickly made a name for himself as one of the foremost realist painters in the area.  Rey paints outdoor subjects, but not your typical landscapes. He is drawn to the infinite variety of the real world. Rey’s pieces range from backyard scenes to seascapes, and are characterized by sharp clarity of form and rich color. He is concerned with recording a place frozen in time, and seeks out places where the play of light and shadow captures the essence of the scene " CHECK THE PICTURES ON THIS EXCELLENT PIECE!!!  DONT MISS THIS CHANCE!!!
