Not sure but it certainly was a conversation piece! These vintage baby booties from 1953 are made of soft leather and feature a lace-up moccasin style design. The medium width and US shoe size can be for about a 3 month to a 9 month old baby. The sole measures 4 inches and is soft and plyable to ensure a comfortable fit for little feet. These booties were in my mother's hope chest all those years. A little story with them is that when I inherited them, I placed them in my hope chest. It seemed that every time I took them out to show my female friends in the 80's, they would become pregnant. Just a coincidence? Not sure but it certainly was a conversation piece!
