The set features a particularly attractive period design with pale celadon/seafoam green panels, delicate pink rose medallions, extensive hand-applied gold decoration, raised beaded accents and ornate geometric detailing against white porcelain. The combination of soft green, pink roses and elaborate gilding gives this set a distinctly Edwardian/Victorian Revival appearance. Each piece bears the blue Hand Painted Nippon backstamp. AGE Estimated early 20th century, approximately 1910s to early 1920s. Pieces marked “Nippon” were produced for export prior to the change in U.S. import marking conventions that resulted in “Japan” becoming the standard country designation in the early 1920s.
