Huge strand of Chevron Beads Purchased in a Trade from Another Collector Approx 69 beads I believe The Chevron Bead originated in Italy. The first examples were 7 layer beads and later approximately in the 1700's were manufactured in the much more common 6 layer beads. Some were 4 layer. They are blown glass and shaped by grinding into the wonderful shapes we see today. Several countries make chevron beads but beads such as India Chevrons typically do not have the sharp points in the star layers. T&T / the Howard Family Collection has an extensive collection of these beads compiled over 40+ years from many countries.
