Ivory Cottage Core Fairy Nightgown Lace Trim French Cap Sleeves w Flaws Vintage 60s ivory cottage core /fairy nightgown has some amazing design features, which IMHO offsets its blemishes. First, let's start with the sweet French cap sleeves, made of delicate, see-through chiffon and  ivory piping.  The deep scoop neckline can show off a hint of your décolleté and the gathered bodice is of sheer striated nylon lace over the ivory nylon.  Three tiny decorative buttons down the the front, The Empire waist is a 4" wide band of ivory nylon also overlaid with the sheer striated lace.  The calf-length skirt of the nightgown falls gracefully, though there are many 'nicks" in the front - see pix -.  The bottom of the skirt is also finished with the striated lace, gathered to give it a bit of flounce.  A pretty white satin ribbon overlaid on the lace, which has a split - see pix.  These flaws do not in any way impede the wear-ablility of this pretty piece. The size label and makers tags are long gone but this beautiful nightie remains. The mannequin in the photos is approx. a modern size 4 - 6.  This would translate to an approximate size S - M.
