If you don't get it all the way left, it will seem like it doesn't work. This is a vintage animated musical Santa Claus in working condition! Excellent condition. Circa 1960s/1970s. Very clean, very well taken care of. Made in Taiwan. Metal base, plastic face, feet and hands. 11 1/2" tall. Metal bell. Takes 2 "C" batteries, not included. Plays a remix of Santa Claus is Coming to Town and We Wish You a Merry Christmas. Arms move and the bell rings, feet move and propel him forwards so it appears like he walks.
