View exquisite 3-dimensional hummingbird tea/coffee cup/mug japan takahashi trading with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. Mr. takahashi died in april of 2002. i can find no issues. only displayed. this has never been used to my knowledge. very cool idea. (you can read a little more about them below and see a photo of their place in the third-to-last image. ). the cup i can find no issues. only displayed. this has never been used to my knowledge. very exquisite hummingbird and floral dimensional floral cup. the hummingbird is three dimensional, while the flowers are raised from the surface of the cup. very cool idea. i love it when i see one of the most traditional, timeless epoch-long forms in human history has an idea that i have not come across before and this i had not seen before. this is a vintage piece from takahashi trading company of san francisco's japantown. (you can read a little more about them below and see a photo of their place in the third-to-last image. from the surface on which the cup rests to the rim is 4⅛". the rim diameter is 3⅛". you can view the second-to-last image to gain a sense of scale. the cup has the following marks on it (see last image) stamp humming bird [takahashi trading company logo] san francisco gold foil sticker • 𝓽𝓪𝓴𝓪𝓱𝓪𝓼𝓱𝒾® • san franscisco 94108 • made in japan about takahashi the official company name is takahashi trading corp, founded after wwii by henri hiroyuki takahashi. after being released from an internment camp, he was allowed to return to the west coast. in 1945, mr. takahashi and his wife started a small store in san francisco's japan town, at first helping local residents send care packages back to japan and later importing goods for distribution and sale. the business grew with mr. takahashi designing wares such as the genji screen, kabuki Lamp and moku moku salad bowl, which became popular items of the day. at its peak, in addition to their home offices on rhode island street, the takahashi trading corporation had stores on grant avenue, in ghiradelli square, several in sausalito, as well as one in new york city. mr. takahashi died in april of 2002. maker's and/or other marks the cup has the following marks on it (see last image) stamp humming bird [takahashi trading company logo] san francisco gold foil sticker • 𝓽𝓪𝓴𝓪𝓱𝓪𝓼𝓱𝒾® • san franscisco 94108 • made in japan dimensions from the surface on which the cup rests to the rim is 4⅛". the rim diameter is 3⅛". you can view the second-to-last image to gain a sense of scale. condition >i can find no issues. only displayed. the fine print the images serve as the majority of the listing description, so take a look at them closely. shipping costs have really increased—this is calculated into the buy-it-now price. i really add a large amount of packaging to protect what i ship, so that will inherently add alot of weight already. and shipping prices increase greatly with minor increments in weight. i am not able to sell individual items from items i have listed as a group. i just don't have the stamina to create new listings for those. i apologize for that. i haven't initially individually listed items because i don't have enough listing slots to so. trying to downsize some, though extremely melancholically. shipping time: i otherwise work more than full time and my health isn't great, so kindly excuse the longer handling time. if i am able to ship sooner, i absolutely will do that . i appreciate you taking the time to view my listing.
