View VINTAGE STERLING SILVER ORTHODOX CROSS CRUCIFIX ICXC NIKA “THE LORD IS MY LIGHT" with current marketplace pricing, condition, product images and item details. (1 7/16" tall with bale loop and jump ring, ~1 1/4” without the ring; weight approx. 1.5 g) Crucifix pendant featuring a Slavonic Orthodox plain and humble right-angled design of the Savior's Cross with a detailed relief artistic depiction of the Crucified Savior. Vintage or antique solid sterling silver medium-sized (approx. 1 7/16" tall with bale loop and jump ring, ~1 1/4” without the ring; weight approx. 1.5 g) Crucifix pendant featuring a Slavonic Orthodox plain and humble right-angled design of the Savior's Cross with a detailed relief artistic depiction of the Crucified Savior. His head is crowned with large halo, which is emitting rays of light around the Cross centerpiece, a symbolic reference to Psalm 27 “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” and the preaching of Christ: "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness" (John 8:12). The top end of the vertical crossbar of the pendant shows the "INRI" nameplate made in Cyrillic transliteration as "IНЦI". The left and right side ends of the horizontal crossbar bear Sacred Name of Jesus Christ inscribed as the "IC XC" Greek Christogram, the " IC " on the left, and the "XC" on the right. The bottom end of the horizontal crossbar shows small inscription of the Greek "NIKA" ("Victorious") symbol made using a Cyrillic transliteration as "HIKA”, an ancient part of the Savior’s Holy Name reflecting His victory over sin and death achieved on the Cross. The reverse displays Church Slavonic words of the Orthodox prayer traditionally inscribed on the reverse of body (Baptism) cross pendants meaning "Save and protect". The prayer reminds us that Christ the Savior has the power to save and protect a person wearing the cross from every evil and all enemies visible and invisible. The bottom part of the reverse shows the "925" print indicating the "sterling" purity. It has been confirmed for the pendant using the silver acid test. The pendant has visual antique or vintage appearance with signs of aging and wear that might include diminished quality of the artwork, deformations of its original shape, scratches, dents, and patches of discoloration or patina.
