There are two spot in the lid where it may have been bumped which has caused the lacquer to crack - one is a radiating crack with three cracks from a possible strike point, the other just a straight crack. This is a unique and lovely peice of handwork for someone's wedding!  This box has wedding symbolism including joined rints, etc.  It has a cloud form shape and is quite weighty at 3 pounds.  This box measures 14" long, 7 1/2" wide and stands 4" tall.  This is a very nice peice of laquer work. I dont' know the age, but am calling it vintage, although it might be older. It is in good to fair vintage condition. There are some condition issues to be aware of. There is chipping/lacquer loss around some of the edges where the lid and bottom come together.
