This is an antique Japanese ukiyo‑e woodblock print triptych, depicting a dramatic kabuki theater scene with three actors in an interior setting. Each panel features a richly dressed figure in patterned kimono, surrounded by architectural details, screens, and calligraphy cartouches identifying the characters and scene. These multi‑panel actor portraits were a hallmark of late‑Edo and early‑Meiji printmaking, created by leading artists of the Utagawa and Toyohara schools. The print shows the classic characteristics of the period: expressive faces, bold color contrasts, and finely carved textile patterns. Triptychs like this were originally sold as three separate sheets but intended to be displayed together, making complete sets increasingly collectible today. This example is professionally framed with a red mat and white frame, ready for display. The colors remain vibrant, and the composition presents beautifully on the wall. Condition: Colors remain strong with good preservation of linework. Light age toning consistent with 19th‑century prints. Framed under glass; not inspected out of frame. No visible tears or losses from the front Measurements: With the frame, the measurements are 27" long by 15 1/4" tall.
