Up for sale is a beautiful pair of East Asian antique earrings crafted from sterling silver featuring the Hindu deity, Ganesha the Elephant. We could all use a little of that energy in our lives right now! Up for sale is a beautiful pair of East Asian antique earrings crafted from sterling silver featuring the Hindu deity, Ganesha the Elephant. I absolutely love these earrings, notably because of their provenance, but also because Ganesha represents clearing the path ahead, and is the “remover of obstacles.” We could all use a little of that energy in our lives right now! The square panels feature an overlay of Ganesha. Each panel has a series of dangling and softly tinkling bells. They are pierced earrings, with long sheered type hooks soldered to the panels. While unmarked, they tested to 925 parts per 1,000 silver. The earrings measure approximately 1.75” tall by 3/4” wide. Condition: Excellent antique condition, for a pair of pre-owned and loved earrings that are 70+ years old. There are normal surface scuffs and scratches, tarnish and patina. The only fault I see is the earlobe hooks are slightly bent. (Review photos please, as they are part of the description.) The earrings will arrive in a brocade jewelry pouch with a bit about their history. The Fine Print Welcome to my shop! What condition are these pieces in: These items are all vintage, antique (older than 50 years), or from a secondary contemporary marketplace. As such, there will be scuffs, scratches on stones and metal, visible use, sometimes slightly bent ring bands or clasps or rings that need attention. I will do my best to photograph these or point out any issues. Please review all photos prior to bidding. I leave the patina on pieces, especially with oxidation. If you would prefer something to be shinier and polished before it is mailed, please contact me and I will use an industry recommended product to hand polish, although it may leave a slight odor that can easily be removed by you with rinsing in water with gentle detergents.
