Its design originated with Zuni artists—specifically, it resembles a petit point cluster design famously used by Fannie Weebothee Ondelacy; however, the stones are not cut like Fannie’s and I do not think she made it. No one’s going to miss this ring on your finger. Originally, this design was meant to be worn to ceremonies and social gatherings. Now it makes a statement about your appreciation of the artistic genius of Native Americans. Materials and technique. This ring isn’t marked for silver content or signed by its maker but I guarantee it as Sterling. It’s a classic and intricate petit point design. An outer row of 26 petit point turquoise cabochons (rounded on one end, pointed on the other) surrounds a row of nine snake-eye stones that are enclosed within braided wire and two rows of silver shots.  Measurements and dimensions. This ring is about two and a quarter inches long and three-quarters of an inch wide. It weighs 15 grams on my scale. It’s a size 6.5 on my ring mandrel. This ring could be sized, but I’d recommend taking it to someone with a laser for soldering, as removing all of these stones would be time-consuming.  About the artist. This piece is anonymous.
