Material: Fine white porcelain with a glossy glazed finish, decorated with rust-orange blossoms, gray-green ivy leaves, and slender brown stems winding around the border and into the center well. Design details: Measures about 7.5 inches in diameter, this amazing plate is a round fairly shallow plate with a softly scalloped rim and a gently raised inner border band, giving a subtle framed effect to the central eating surface. Backstamp on underside shows the rust-red shield mark with a heraldic animal and wording including CARLSBAD above and CHINA AUSTRIA below, along with a hand-applied number "26". Origin and era: Produced in historic Bohemia (Austria) during the Victorian period in the late 19th century, aligning with traditional Carlsbad export china. The glaze surface shows only a few scattered utensil marks, a light scuff or two, and a few tiny age-related specks or discoloration in the well and along the rim. Floral transfer decoration remains clear and mostly complete with only faint rub/wear to some of the fine linework. Rim edges are largely smooth with a couple of tiny glaze rough spots and pinhead dark specks but no cracks, repairs, or large rim chips. Unglazed foot ring on the underside has expected shelf wear and some darkened residue from long-term storage.
