Precious figurine (or originally a bank?), porcelain or ceramic, of a Boston Terrier or Bulldog or French Bulldog. Beautifully hand painted and glazed. Measures approximately 8" high. The finish is so nice that I'm not exactly sure whether it is porcelain or ceramic -- I have seen this exquisite piece identified as both. There is a round hole on the bottom that is reminiscent of a vintage bank plug, but the piece seems too delicate to hold coins. This piece is from the mid-century, possible as early as the 1940's.
