Warranted Cast Steel”. There are 2 blades behind the wood wedge. From other similar planes I have researched, this is how it was designed. It is also stamped on the side in the wood with “Ogontz Tool Co.” and it looks like #8 or #3-see photo. Up for your consideration is a vintage/antique Sandusky Tool Co. wood coffin style plane. It is stamped on the blade – Sandusky Tool Co. Warranted Cast Steel”. There are 2 blades behind the wood wedge. From other similar planes I have researched, this is how it was designed. It is also stamped on the side in the wood with “Ogontz Tool Co.” and it looks like #8 or #3-see photo Measurements- Bottom is 8 1/4” long and 2 7/8" wide. About 4 7/8" high from bottom to tip of metal blade Weight –a little over two pounds Condition: The Plane has a chip on the front top and also a slit in the wood on the side to the left of the blade. There are some splits in the wood behind the blade and one on the top front section. As noted, there are two blades behind the wedge. I was not able to remove the wedge as it is a tight fit with the blades. I didn’t want to force it. The plane has very nice patina.
