The strongest images include early U.S. Navy / WWI-era shipboard photographs, sailor group photos, an officer group posed aboard or near a ship, a formal Navy ceremony or signing scene with officers gathered around a table, sailors on deck, sailors in dress whites and blues, and several wartime-period personal snapshots. Several backs and images provide useful identifying detail, including “Grad. Gunnery 6/43,” “1944,” “U.S.N.T.C.
