The background (the body of the heart-shaped base) is slightly oxidized, and the sterling knot pattern is a more high-polished, smooth sterling silver. Each earring suspends from a shepherd's hook (in very good condition). Artisan Irish style with amethyst gemstones make these sterling dangle earrings memorable. At the base of each of the matched pair of earrings is a semi-puffed heart-shaped sterline silver design with a raised Celtic knot pattern on top. The background (the body of the heart-shaped base) is slightly oxidized, and the sterling knot pattern is a more high-polished, smooth sterling silver. At the top of the sterline heart-shaped lower portion of the earrings is a single, round, bezel-set cabochon natural purple amethyst gemstone with deeply saturated color and very good polish. Each earring suspends from a shepherd's hook (in very good condition). The back of each earring is marked "L.M." and 925. I could not identify the maker. The earrings weigh approximately 2.75 and 2.86 grams (some variation is to be expected with natural gemstones). Overall condition is very good. There is tarnish on the metal, which I will leave in place so the buyer can determine whether or not to keep it. The shepherd's hooks are securely affixed to the lower part of each earring.  These would make a lovely gift at Christmas or for St. Patrick's Day!
