Fresh from a well traveled New York City estate, we have a pleasure to offer you this gorgeous Antique Japanese Black Lacquered & Hand Painted Chinoiserie Lidded Box / Jewelry Box. Made of wood, a great example of 19th century Japanese craftsmanship, ebonized black high gloss lacquered, with Samurai scenes painted in gilt gold paint on the lid. Additional scenes of boats, birds etc on sides. Condition is good, showing light age / use wear ( Size is 7.5" wide, 6.5" deep, and 3" tall. This is a classic decoration all great settings must have, a great jewelry box for lady's desk or chest, a fine display on any coffee table, in any traditional or vintage mid-century modern collection!
