This set of four lowball tumblers is a beautiful example of Mid-Century Modern (MCM) "Hollywood Regency" style barware, dating from the late 1950s to the 1960s. They feature a wide, textured 22-karat gold-gilded embossed band wrapped around the upper rim. This set of four lowball tumblers is a beautiful example of Mid-Century Modern (MCM) "Hollywood Regency" style barware, dating from the late 1950s to the 1960s. This specific barware pattern is officially called "Azure Scroll" (sometimes simply referred to by collectors as the "Azure" pattern) by the Culver Glass Company. These were produced by Culver Glass Company, which pioneered the process of applying high-heat fired finishes to glassware during this era. They feature a wide, textured 22-karat gold-gilded embossed band wrapped around the upper rim. There is quite a bit of wear on the band, which is even on all four glasses (see photos). Just above or integrated inside the gold rim is a vibrant turquoise/aqua lacy scroll design. This high-contrast combination of gold leaf and bright teal was incredibly popular for upscale home entertaining during the mid-century. *Asking price reflects condition. Condition: Used.
