At first glance, they simply appear to by a deep ruby red, but upon closer inspection, the golden amber hues appear around the edge of the base and throughout the thinner parts of the design. We were struck by previous experience with Amberina pieces and decided to shine a black light on the candlesticks with impressive results (as seen in the 2nd - 4th pictures). These amazing candlesticks have weathered so much only to still shine in their brilliance and simple beauty. They are unmarked, though we believe the design to be a New Martinsville design. We were struck by previous experience with Amberina pieces and decided to shine a black light on the candlesticks with impressive results (as seen in the 2nd - 4th pictures). The cadmium used in the glass to provide the amber hues shines under black light and creates an entirely different appearance. These candlesticks are each ~5.25" in diameter at the base and ~5.25" tall. They have no obvious chips, cracks or flaws in the finish. They are a truly beautiful piece of American glass design.
