Offered is a substantial American Brilliant Period cut glass bowl, circa 1885–1910. This is a heavier, architecturally strong example featuring: • Intricate radiating pinwheel panels • Deep hobstar and geometric center medallion • Complex layered star base • Heavy 7/16” thick rim • Deep, sharp interior cutting • Strong light return and brilliance The cutting is bold and confident with excellent depth and definition throughout. ⸻ Measurements Diameter: 8 3/16 inches Height: 3 9/16 inches Rim Thickness: 7/16 inches (just under 1/2”) Weight: 3 pounds, 9 ounces A substantial piece with excellent presence. ⸻ Condition Antique condition with visible rim damage. There is one significant chip to a sawtooth rim point resulting in near loss of one tooth, with minor adjacent edge impact. The damage is confined to the rim edge and does not extend into the body of the bowl. No radiating cracks observed from the rim damage. There is also a visible internal stress line/inclusion within one pinwheel panel. This is internal only — it cannot be felt from either the interior or exterior surfaces. No repairs. No open structural cracks. Base shows light shelf wear consistent with age. The bowl remains solid, stable, and displays beautifully. Priced accordingly for disclosed rim damage. Condition: Used.
