Original 1909 embossed German Christmas postcard featuring two red-breasted birds perched above a purple horseshoe decorated with holly, red berries, icicles, and a snowy cottage scene. The front reads  “A Merry Christmas”  and has handwritten inscriptions including “1909” and “Ida G. Mead.” The reverse contains a Christmas message signed by Gertrude and is addressed to Mrs. Susan F. Wood. There is no stamp or postal cancellation, so the card is classified as unposted. Marked  “Printed in Germany”  and numbered  4603 . The heavy embossing is clearly visible on the reverse. This is an authentic antique postcard—not a modern reproduction.
