This beautiful, authentic Ceramiche Solimene lidded soup tureen features the factory's iconic hand-painted "Campagna" chicken/bird motif in a vibrant blue, green, and red color palette. Handcrafted in Vietri sul Mare, Italy, this rustic majolica pottery piece includes structured green side handles, a coordinating lid with a central knob, and a practical cutout notch designed to accommodate a serving ladle. The underside bears the official stamped Solimene maker's mark confirming its authentic Italian heritage. It measures 5 1/2" tall without the lid by 8 3/8" wide, and weights 3 pounds and 15 ounces. Condition:  The tureen is in good pre-owned vintage condition with signs of age and wear. The interior of the bowl remains clean, smooth, with some stains. Notable flaws include a small glaze skip or minor chip and nicks, along the outer blue rim of the lid; a tiny glaze nick on one of the painted green leaf motifs; and expected shelf wear with unglazed roughness and small chips along the bottom base rim where the piece rests.
