There is also a good but imperfect blue rim and - as I just found - a tiny chip. The printed mark reads: “TST Co” along with “Made in U.S.A.” and “10-33-8”. This is a lovely old platter with a flower motif made by 20th C West Virginia company Taylor Smith & Taylor (TST Co.). The manufacturer produced china under this name from 1901-1985; this one seems to be from the 1930's or 40's. It measures 13 inches by 10 inches and is about 1-1/3 inches tall. The shape is octagonal (eight-sided), which is uncommon; it is larger than some TST platters; and there is a very lovely floral design that I think is hand painted. There is also a good but imperfect blue rim and - as I just found - a tiny chip. The printed mark reads: “TST Co” along with “Made in U.S.A.” and “10-33-8”. Questions are always welcomed.
