Interesting Fact:  In 1927, Tirschenreuth's historic porcelain factory was acquired by Hutschenreuther, one of Germany's most famous ceramic dynasties.  The merger remained intact until 1994, when Hutschenreuther separated from the Tirschenreuth factory.  The following year, in 1995, the Tirschenreuth factory permanently closed, after 150 years of operation.
