Detailed brass cast metal Jesus Christ corpus. The streamlined minimalist geometry of the wooden cross, and corpus stylized lines are characteristic of mid-century modern religious art from 1950's-1960's. This piece focuses entirely on the detailed cast figure rather than the ornate structural cross. During this post-war period, West Germans manufacturers exported high volumes of these beautifully crafted wood-and-metal devotional objects to Catholic households worldwide.
