This particular model is substantially more refined in appearance than the traditional mesh-heavy Moab hiking shoe. The Dark Earth upper uses rugged brown leather with strategically placed textile/mesh sections for a combination of durability, breathability and outdoor styling. The aggressive multi-directional Vibram tread uses numerous independent traction zones and deep lugs across the heel, forefoot and perimeter. The most noticeable wear is cosmetic wear to the brown leather uppers. The leather has developed a heavily broken-in/distressed appearance with visible creasing, rubbing, scuffs, scratches and variations in coloration throughout. This is especially noticeable across the toe boxes, forefoot flex areas and around portions of the eyestays. There are several lighter-colored scuffs and rubbed areas where the surface finish of the brown leather has worn from previous use. This pair should therefore NOT be expected to look lightly worn or cosmetically pristine. That said, the wear is largely cosmetic and actually gives the shoes the rugged broken-in appearance commonly associated with outdoor leather footwear. The leather panels remain intact overall, and the major structural stitching appears secure. The textile/mesh tongues and padded collars remain intact with normal evidence of previous use. The brown laces are present and functional. Interior areas show normal signs of previous wear.
