One 1¢ green Franklin stamp is affixed. "Best Wishes" greeting postcard with large red roses and a small nautical inset, an embossed printed lithograph from the Divided Back era, postmarked 1909. No place is named on the card. Caption: "Best Wishes." What the image shows: Deep red embossed roses and buds with gold outlining on a dark ground. At left is a gilt-framed vignette of a sailboat on calm water with a lighthouse in the distance. Decorative design card rather than a town view. The back: Divided back with green "POST CARD". Left edge reads "PRINTED IN GERMANY". Posted with a Parkston, S. Dak. postmark dated 1909. One 1¢ green Franklin stamp is affixed. No publisher imprint or series noted. The message: Back of card reads: "Dear friend I don't know how I spend this long Sunday so I drop you a few lines and say that we are all [illegible].
