This modernist sterling silver frame holds a large Baltic amber polished piece, which mimics its asymmetric shape. Fossilized Baltic tree resin with an opaque golden yellow color is often called egg yolk amber and is specific for this area of Eastern Europe. In fact, this piece is marked with "925" and the hallmarks of Poland's sterling authentication, the particular stamp indicating the date made was within 1963-1986.
