It has the popular 10” inch sweep. It’s a ratcheting with reverse Hand Drill Bit Brace. This brace has a steel clad ball bearing head, beautiful tropical Hardwood handles, fully boxed ratchet, ball bearing Lion chuck and patented Leland Universal jaws that use modern round and hex shank bits as well as the vintage square tapered bits. Condition is very good Brace is still tight at the head and ratchet joints, no excess play or wobble. Brace has been lubricated and Tested. Great working condition works, ratchets and reverses properly. This bit brace is circa early 1930’s more than 90 years old. Will last another long lifetime with normal maintenance. A few years ago I became passionate about using vintage hand tools vs. battery or electric powered whenever it made sense to do so. Today my passion still thrives and I enjoy properly oiling/waxing, cleaning or refurbishing, if needed those same vintage woodworking tools. My goal is to place as many of these high quality, made in the USA vintage hand tools back into the hands of today’s craftsmen. I would never “part out” a good tool just for the proceeds. If the tool I have acquired is serviceable I will put it into as good of condition it can be and sell to friends or on eBay.
